Project December 2006: Felting Frenzy!

Felting has been popular for quite a while. For those not familiar, felting is the process by which wool fibers are matted together-typically by washing in hot water. The result is a sturdy fabric that is terrific for handbags. We took some great patterns, felted the bags, added handles and lined the bags for an extremely professional-looking tote. People are making these by the dozen for gifts. It certainly replaces yet another scarf or hat!

Our bag is still in the works, so Linda Steel, knitter extraordinaire, was kind enough to lend us her bags to showcase this month. If you see Linda, tell her what a great job she did!

NOTE: If you want your bag lined BY CHRISTMAS, it MUST be dropped off at Wooly Monmouth with fabric by December 8th.

These patterns are part of the Noni pattern collection and are available for purchase at Wooly Monmouth.
